Students study in a group environment and receive individual tutoring as needed throughout the evening
Wellbeing mentoring
How we integrate student wellbeing into our sessions:
Providing nourishing food and sitting around the table eating together
A calm and considered study environment
We aim to empower our students so they leave each session feeling more organised, more capable and less overwhelmed
Conversations between tutors and students.
When a tutor sits down to help a student with their work, they may start a casual conversation about:
Sleep: How much is ideal and what gets in the way
Stress: Managing big workloads and exam pressure
Phone use: How to protect focus and create boundaries
Healthy Eating: What fuels the brain and body and what depletes it
Study-life balance: How to work hard without burning out
Exercise: For stress relief
Taking breaks: The importance of rest and having fun
Motivation: How to overcome procrastination
Self-belief: Positive self-talk, growth vs fixed mindset
Wellbeing mentoring at The Whole Student is not delivered as a separate program or curriculum. It is part of our culture.
A shared meal and a sense of community
Students sit and eat dinner together around a communal table. This shared meal is an important part of The Whole Student experience because it provides a sense of community.
A distinguishing feature of The Whole Student is the opportunity for students to connect with and learn from peers from different schools.
This creates the potential for new friendships and a genuine sense of belonging.

The learning environment
Every design decision for our study sanctuary at The Whole Student is made with the student's learning and nervous system in mind.
Our intention is to create a sense of calm, where students feel motivated, inspired and welcome the moment they walk through the door.
Warm layered lighting, paint colours chosen to promote a sense of ease and focus, soft and durable furnishings, round white oak tables, beautiful indoor plants in custom made planter boxes and a considered aesthetic that feels different to school.
We are a phone free environment; this is a deliberate policy. Students leave their phone in their bag when they arrive.
There will be a phone number provided should you need to contact your child.
We deliver all of this with a high level of experience and care, giving every student the opportunity to achieve their potential ATAR.
